1. What is the Upshot50?
   1. The Upshot50 are the marketing technology providers reshaping the world of marketing. Recognized for offering the most innovative, powerful and useful marketing tools and technologies, these are the marketing tools of choice.
2. Who can be nominated for the Upshot50?
   1. Any company that you would characterize as a marketing technology vendor. They may or may not be primarily in the marketing technology industry, but whatever it is they do, they need to be providing a technology solution that helps marketers…well…market.
3. Who can make nominations for companies to the Upshot50?
   1. Anyone may recommend a company for induction into the Upshot50. Sure, we’d prefer that “anyone” does not include bots or hired guns to run-up the numbers. But if that’s what floats your boat…we’re flattered.
4. Does Upshot Institute get paid by nominated companies?
   1. No, never, not ever. That is, never paid to be included in the Upshot50. Any number of winners may have been past or could be future clients, but you know what we mean.
5. How do you select the Upshot50 winners?
   1. One word…darts. OK, no bar games involved. Winners of the Upshot50 Awards must first be nominated and their nomination approved to be part of the Upshot50 voting process. Once voting is opened, it’s simply a matter of which nominees receive the most votes.
6. What does an Upshot50 Award winning company receive?
   1. Recognition as a leader in marketing technology and the love and adoration of millions of course! Oh, and a nifty wall certificate, snazzy badge for your site, your company name and logo in the Upshot50 page on the Upshot Institute website, and mention in our press releases about the awards.
7. Can I nominate my own company for the Upshot50?
   1. Yes, but we know who you are so be sure you’re wearing your plastic Groucho Marks nose mask.
8. When will the Upshot50 winners be announced?
   1. Voting for the nominated companies ends on March 5th. On March 10th, we rollout Richard Dawson to do his “Survey Says!!” routine. OK, no Richard. (if you even get what we’re talking about there).
9. Can I link to the Upshot50 winner’s page?
   1. Yes please. Just give us as much credit as you can muster at every turn.
10. When do nominations end for the 2010 Upshot50?
    1. We stop accepting nominations at 12:00:01 on Feb 19st, 2010. OK, maybe 12:00:02.
11. Can I find out who nominated my company for the Upshot50?
    1. We do not reveal the identity of those who nominate. We won’t sell or otherwise mistreat the names of our trusty public nominators.
